a blog post by a friend of mine on here really had me thinking this afternoon.
so caution.... im going to rant some.
The internet is a cruel and unusual place. It gives many people an outlet to air opinions that should be kept to themselves, an outlet of release, a air of anonymity and security. The newness of the internet means many people do not have respect for it. there is no code of ethics or etiquette associated with the internet. Certain things have been learned through experience, like be careful you arent posting your nudie pics to twitter, by accident
. But lots of people feel it's okay to be a cunt on the internet, when they know damn well they wouldn't get away with it in real life. morals do not exist in this realm. to say that those people dont matter and should be ignored is easy. but the truth is that is a difficult thing to do, and ive seen even the most confident women shaken from time to time because of it.
and thinking about that, it reminded me SO much of why I Love Suicide Girls. It reminded me of how truly brave and badass all you women are. And how much inspiration comes from that boldness and freedom to be yourselves. It reminded me of how Suicide Girls is a place where beauty is embraced and recognized as something greater than just a "perfect" body and face. It reminded me of why i'm here and of how this safe haven of the internet is SO MUCH more than the smokin' hot naked ladies. It is the ONE PLACE, on and off the internet, where i have found women truly support and encourage one another on a regular basis. those to me are REAL women. and i am honored just to be here amongst them. I am inspired by the security and self confidence. The individuality. and the willingness to build up the women around them.
i so badly want to be a suicide girl. i'm more determined than ever. Sg represents a way of seeing the world that i would gladly represent.
