The convention is done. All the copies of the game are in others' hands. A box of new board games by other designers is on the way back to San Francisco. It'll have to catch up with me there. I'm taking a week to bum around Poland.

I've had better travel days.

Flight: Delayed, until my transfer would be missed.
Rescheduled.
Rescheduled flight delayed.
Screaming children on the flight over the Atlantic.

After being in airports, train stations and anywhere other than a bed for 24 hours, walked off a train, leaving my satchel on it. That's the one that held my computer. The one I hadn't been able to back up...

There are still a lot of honest people about so it is worth trying the lost property department of the train operator.

You dont seem like the sort of person who will let this sort of thing ruin your whole day.

Hope you recover something during the trip.

Sometimes it goes like that. Hope you can still make your trade show. blackeyed

On the bright side, on a comparison basis, the odds of your travels improving from this point on are probably pretty good.

I'm sitting in the International Terminal, San Francisco. Right now, I was supposed to be on a plane, eastbound by way of Washington D.C.. But this is better.

The flight was delayed. They rerouted me direct to Frankfurt, from there to Berlin. Now I'm listening to final boarding calls: Osaka. Narita. Places I like not so much as Berlin, and yet, as I hear those...

I'm spending the day:

  • Finishing a good book.
  • Napping
  • Building a 3D printer.

It's not a perfect day, but it will do.

s/ 3D printer/ kickass rope motif in quilt/g, and it sounds like a dream day to me.

On the vocabulary, it's more that my blog has a focus than the word lists. I'm highlighting the words she doesn't know the meaning of, but she has something like thirty words each week.

Ha. Around the same time I picked up German, which is basically never.

I might be slightly jealous, I always wanted to see L.A. Damn you, Hollywood movies!

I definitely recommend both. The book is a really light read, you should be able to breeze through it. smile

P.S.
If the last couple blog posts have had you saying, "Wait, baudot? Just talking about TV shows? Is this the same person?" Let me say that yes, there's more interesting stuff happening in my life than that. But the stuff that's consuming my thoughts presently is waiting on a patent filing or two before I can show it off.

So in the meantime, I...

Funny, I just started re-watching Cosmos myself. I don't think I appreciated how much that show influenced me until now.

Do not, under any circumstances, watch "Spartacus: Vengeance" (aka Season 3). Yes, "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" (aka Season 2) nearly perfects the genre of trash television, with continuous twists, machinations, and gratuitous sex and violence. You'd think Season 3 would be at least half so good. It isn't. It is purely bad. Just leave it at Season 2. Season 2 is a good show,...

Perfect. In my opinion the candy makers on the east coast are superior. There is also a chance i can get some.. ahh! they have a website!!

http://www.rcandy.com/

so they make these HUGE lollies on sticks shaped like camels and dogs nd santa in a chimney.. that we'd chi away at on furnature to get little sugar slivers in our mouths.. and of course it was a race to the first kid who could get it in their mouth. My dad will put the stickless :"toys" in a zip lock bag and scientifically and evenly crack iit with a glass. Some of thse things , without a stick- are as big as "yer face". Candy wise it's the same stuff they use (pretty much) for candy art in China and Rock Candy.

I am determined to send something from that company in a care package. OH! This traditional fortress in my hometown did a Victorian xmas every year and we'd be handed these barley toys to shut us up for a 35 minute Magic Lantern show of a european fairy tale.

And now I just learned what a Polkagris wsa, so i'm going to head off on an internet/ book fueled tangent looking up more magic lanterns and candy....

blah blah blah
mneylu:
oh and - Have you ever had Chicken Bones candy?

The chair is making it possible for me to actually be more mobile! It's been over a year since I could wander around a store or walk up and down Valencia for enjoyment. With my limited energy and decreasing ability to be in a standing or walking position without pain, things like simply shopping became too difficult. So now I can go shopping again, and wander around. Not aimlessly since I need to build up the muscles but at least I have a little more freedom. Between the chair and the pain meds I am working on regaining some of the freedoms I've lost over the last year.
