It seems like just yesterday that 9/11/01 turned into our national nightmare. As I was flipping channels just now, I paused on the History Channel and a program on the WTC that day. I can remember how it united most of the country. Five years on we are still looking for Bin Laden; we are mired in a war between factions in Iraq; we can't claim the Afghani situation is much better. I wonder what the next five years will hold?
I had a great weekend, starting Friday at the Sleater-Kinney show at the Crystal Ballroom. I was never into them, having never really sought out their work. A friend had an extra ticket, so I went. I was very impressed, to say the least. What a tight band. Lead vocals can be a little challenging to listen to, but all in all, those women rocked hard.
Saturday, after work, I went to a fraternity brother's party. The annual Pig Roast/Beer Olympics is an epic soiree! The deal is: form a team representing a country and prepare to drink copious amounts of beer! We formed up Team India and had some great costumes. Team India placed well in the Spin & Bong, the Wheelbarow Relay and the Trike Race. The party started at 1pm, and I put in a good 8 hours of drinking. Home and in bed by ten...very needed!
Sunday I had the pleasure of joining n8tvegrl for a couple of drinks. She does make me happy! That night we joined a few of the regulars at Dante's Sinferno. I got to see wakeangle's mangina...I think a first for him too! I don't think I will returning to Dante's next week, but you never know.
Hopefully the week will go quickly. I have lots going on, as per usual! Three birthday parties and a dinner party this weekend. Sunday I surely will need a day of rest, or possibly some golf!
I do hope you're well.

I'd really like to find this restaurant!

My plan is this: clean up, visit grandparents, drop off baby girl at my moms around 1:00, and then head to the Mission for Strangers With Candy at 2:30. I then have to (potentially) get my brother from work in the gateway area at 5:00 and go to Battle Ground to get baby girl.
Can you join me mid-movie? Or would you prefer that I hold off on that till another time?
I'm looking forward to my talk tonight, should be good!!!
