I've been having one of those "I'm getting old" weeks. I've managed to fuck up my right foot somehow, resulting in what I think is a case of plantar fascitis. It means I can't walk long distances, and I can't really be on my feet for very long. I've been staying home from the gym, and just doing yoga to try and keep it limber. I have a few things to blame it on, starting with the fact that I have not been to yoga class in almost a month, so my feet haven't been getting their normal amount of stretching. Since it's the right foot, I've also been blaming my too-heavy tote that I use for work, so I've now bought a backpack, and I'm going to see if that helps. Yes, I look like a bit of a tool walking around with a backpack, but if it makes it so my foot doesn't hurt anymore, a tool I will be.
The sad part is that this condition usually takes a minimum of two months to completely recover, so this doesn't bode well for our camping trip in a couple of weeks. It's not terrible though, and if I take ibuprofen it's fine. Still, I hate having an ailment that I can do so little about. Plus, trying to get in better shape is hard to do when you can't work out or walk. Le sigh.
On the happy side, we're going to see the Harry Potter movie in a few minutes! I plan to buy the book and read it while camping. Do you think I can wait two more weeks?
