mmmmmmm......lunch!
I went out to LaLuna today for lunch with the family.....family minus my jailbird brother.
so good!
In these dusky parts of Hamilton it's hard to find a good restaurant that actually has selection when it comes to being vegan.
Right, so we headed out to lunch because we're all pretty busy people in my family and we probably won't have a chance to all be in the same place at once for a year or so.
My one sister Caroline is heading off to work in Cornwall, some little town inbetween ottawa and montreal. The brother as i mentioned is locked up. And my other sister, Stephanie is working away at the newspaper.
In 8 days I'll be getting on one of the three planes that i'll have to take in order to make it to Hong Kong, so I'm pretty fucking anxious about that.
Oh yeah!!!!!!! I'm going to take lessons in Cantanese while in Hong Kong, so when I get back I can curse the stupid customers at The Bay in a whole new language.
I'm kind of concerned about if i'll ever come home once i'm gone. I kind of have a tendency to just explore, so once i'm over there i plan on traveling a lot.
I'm going to go to Cambodia, Thailand, Mainland China (obvisously), Indonesia and so on.
I really want to go over to a third world counrty and help those in need, for there are many who need help.
Which reminds me......Wednesday night was awesome!
I go down to this caf called The Staircase in my lovely hometown of Hamilton every wednesday and perform via Singing and acoustic guitar, and I fucking love it.
It's given me so much confidence in my music, as well as all the modivation I need to know that I really do have talent, and people actually come to hear ME play. I love it so much.
anyway this week i decided to try something a little different; this week I left my guitar at home.
I wrote two pieces half monologues, have patty smith type of lyrical poetry, and just got up there and did my thing.
It was so much fun. The best feeling is when people come up to you during the night whom you have never met before, and they just talk to you about what you said, about how they enjoyed it, what their favorite part was and everything!
It's so incredibly fulfilling.
I meet these two guys there that are traveling from the United states and have been in canada for the part three months. they told me they wanted to see canada and just decided to leave for the summer with virtually no money. they just got up and left.
so tonight myself, the girl with the long blonde hair (drools) and the one guy i met from NJ are going to some bush party............i hope the rains holds out.
I doubt that anyone is actually going to read all this, but that's quite alright.
We live in a busy world.
So jolt me, fuck me, and keep my attention.
I'm turning 19 in just under a month, and i could care less, i don't really like people celebrating my birthday. i always feel so phoney opening presents and giving people the reaction they want even though inside i could care less. I really don't like getting presents. I make a conscious effort to not find joy in material possesions. I also believe that everyone should do the same.
All the shit we accumulate in our lives is virtually unnessesary. Outside of the basic requirments for survival that is.
So back to the age thing.......i"m only 18 now yet I have never once been asked for Id, no matter where I go. Having gone to the trouble of getting an ID that saids i'm 22 it's a big pain.
Like last night I went down to Hess V illage and saw this fucking amazing band at The Mermaid's Lounge...They were called The Trews........everyone should check them out. I think they're from Nova Scotia, and you can find their Album in HMV.
Such a great night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was sad though because I has to say goodbye to my very dear friend holly, whom I've grow close with other the last little while.
Good ol' Holly the beaver......I'll miss you.
I guess I should go do something with my life.
Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are there any SG folk from Hamilton at all????????????????????????????????
just curious.
later all
