just the other day my wife and i were looking into scientology! i mean, not to join - but just to see what it's about. MADNESS. i dislike judging religious (ok, not fully true..) - but scientology is nutty. i see why the germans wanna keep it out... wink

i *think* On Liberty made the "evil book" list b/c it argues for personal freedom, and that means the option of foregoing morality and primordial ties. i think that's the "evil" it endorses.

Okay, I have to get a little something off my chest, so the comedy content of this post will be relatively low, but something really strange has just happened and I feel the need to talk about it. I just got off the phone with my sister. Now, to most of you this might not seem so strange at first glance, and it wouldn't be,...

Stockula vs Logic

I am saying you have a structural simularities in though process with Noam Chomsky.

To Noam:
America is evil.
Non Americans have bad stories about America
Since America is bad the stories must be true.

You:
America is good.
Non Americans have bad stories about America.
Since America is good the stoires must be false.

it is the same logical structure with one minor difference. "

Thanks man, I am glad you appreciate the links. I am getting very involved with Nazi and Racist hunting on myspace.com which on one hand is sort of lame and inconsequnetial but on the other hand is part of the broader campaign against intolerance.

Check this stuff out. This has sort of radicalised me into a 4th gen culutre warrior for the great cause of Liberalism.

Well, after being out of the loop for a few days I'm feeling a lot better. I'm through with the steroids, no dry socket, and no more dizzy spells. Still no love at work, but that's nothing new... The food has improved as well. I'm hoping to be back to my normal, toxic diet by this weekend. smile Actually, I think I'm going to start eating...

Good news: got the go-ahead from the dentist today to start eating semi-solid food instead of the mush that I've been limited to the last few days.

Better news: ordered Chinese tonight. Lo mein. Yes. Chicken fried rice. Yes yes. love

Really, really bad news: rice and open sockets in the back of the mouth - not a good combination. Flush! Rinse! Scream! Repeat!

Abortion hurting Democrats by denying them a natural constituency was just a kind of flight of poetic justice fancy. The original hypothesis, that a lot of unwanted criminals may have been culled through legal abortion makes sense to me, even if I dont think it's justifiable on that hypothesis.

Nuking Mecca probably wouldn't set Islam straight but it'd sure let them know we weren't fucking around. If any western city gets nuked out of the blue by terrorists, I'd support nuking every Arab capital plus Medina, and Mecca in retaliation on principle. Nukes are primarily deterrents. Would we refrain from nuking Moscow if they sucker-punched us? If not, what's the point of having a nuclear arsenal?

If Arab countries dont want to see their countries hit in retribution for something al-Qaeda might do, then it's in their interest in stopping us and joining in the fight against terrorism.

Well, I survived the removal of my wisdom teeth. In fact, I think I came through with flying colors! Observations thus far:

* The surgery itself, believe it or not, was the most enjoyable part of the ordeal to date. I first had some sort of tube-thing put on my nose, which calmed me down a bit because I was really keyed up. Then I...

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well.

I'm glad to hear that it was a relatively painless experience for you then. I remember mine was pretty mellow as well, but some people have real problems with getting theirs out.
