Yesterday night my plane was struck by lightning so I missed my connection to New Orleans and wound up sleeping in Atlanta thanks to the shittiest airline ever.
As a consequence of this calamity (nothing is ever wholly bad or good), I got to know a Turkish Engineer who is going to take me to a huge Turk party in Chicago this month. I also met a professional cheerleader.
To my great disgust, I missed the panel I was supposed to speak on today. The conference was a wash, but I do have my health. Now all that I can do is enjoy New Orleans and enjoy it I will. I spent the day with my best friend from yesteryear and his dog, 40. We went and ate Poboys (sandwiches with fried shrimp on baguettes) at the lakeshore park, played Frisbee and are about to go eat dinner at the restaurant where he cooks.
Tomorrow I'm off to Baltimore.
