Today is my Mother's Birthday so I'm going to write about her. I grew up in a single parent type situation so as you can imagine my mother is very important to me. She has always been very straitforward and honest with me. When I was little she never dumbed things down for me. She told me all about sex, drugs, and why Pee Wee got arrested. Not many parents will tell their kids the pros and cons of doing drugs.
Once in high shcool she was dropping my sister off at her elementary school. My sis gets out and my mom pulls out to drive me to my school. As she pulls out she notices snow in the mountains (which doesn't happen too much here). She stops the car and tells me to go get my sister before she gets to class. I ran and got her just before she got to the door. Mom called our schools, made up excuses, and took us to spend the day in the snow.
When I ditched school to camp out for movie tickets for episode one she would come by and bring me food and blankets.
She introduced me to Neil Gaiman and Toilken.
She would always by me black clothes in high school. She would say "here I got you this jacket, I knew you'd like it cuz its black." Or "This shirt isn't black but its got stains on it, so it's always going to look dirty."
She picked me up from school one day, said I was going to get a surprise, and drove me down to LA. She had gotten us tickets to an Aerosmith concert, my favorite band at the time. And no I'm not ashamed to go to a concert with my mom!
When I was a kid, I really wanted a voltron more than anything for Christmas. She couldn't find one so she got me a big transformer instead, which was cool with me. When I was eighteen she found the original voltron robot, and it was under the tree that christmas. Its sitting next to my monitor right now.
Ok I could go on but you get the idea. I love my mom.

And no, I have no idea why I started writing like that.
