I think about SG and the community built here. Is it odd that we are able to form relationhips in our mind with strangers we have never met? In one way, we are starting to live in these viral communities. They are reflective of our real lives, yet they exist as testing grounds in some way. As in life we are attracted by one another in some physical way - but then we get to know one another and a whole new level of understanding takes shape. Online, we substitute the things that are not there like smell, chemisty etc - similar to when reading a book. In that way it is not real. In other ways it can be more real, as we are often more willing to share our thoughts amongst strangers than we are amongst friends. Safer perhaps. I feel like I have this whole other group of friends that I have never, and will probably never meet. The whole thing seems very beautiful to me in a very sad way. Like a book that effects us but we cannot access. Our minds fill in the gaps in ways that bring it comfort. Evolution.
that is often why when you meet someone of the internet, it is awkward. they know your honest self, but you are so accustomed to subconciously lying and deceiving through body language and actions, that you falsify the image you have created.
everybody wants honesty. but few have the courage to make it an everyday reality.
the internet feeds that desire, and allows us to continue in our weaknessess.
