Okay, throat, teeth and head are better! Ears are still a little plugged feeling but I think that will fix itself too, at this rate. And just think, if I had been able to see a GP yesterday I would probably be attributing feeling better to whatever medicine they gave me, and would have spent 70+

Still, I'm playing it safe and taking it easy...

So sometime around Tuesday or Wednesday I came down with an ear infection. In my usual habit I waited to see if it would go away. Friday I noticed it seemed to be getting worse. Last night was when I concluded it's definitely doing the opposite of getting better, and instead the infection seems to be spreading all over the right side of my skull,...

You could try a chemist (you have to ask to see the chemist & not just a sales person) they maybe able to provide you with something over the counter, although if you do need antibiotic's then you will have to see a GP. Either way I hope you can get it seen to quickly
Take care and look after yourself

maybe you should get a friend who has the NHS to pretend to have the same symptoms as you and go to the drs? (not that i support fraud or anything)

It apparently takes a cider and a Long Island Iced Tea to increase the number of men I've kissed in my whole life from 2 to 5.

What kind of cider? Was it Magners?
Sounds like a great night since your kiss count more than doubled! wink

Not so keen on Strongbow - it's a bit dry for my liking,
If you haven't tried them already, I can heartily recommend Magners, Koppaberg and Stella Artois Cidre... smile

So I started out writing a novel, but then realized I don't really like writing novels and began writing it as a screenplay instead, because that's what I'm better at.

But the story is making a really crap screenplay because the premise is that most of the trouble is just being imagined by the main character (appropriate for a novel), so there's not much tension...

That's an author's photograph if ever I saw one.

Beautiful picture, I can see why you like it and I like where you're going with the book....skipping the novel part and going straight to film.
Hope you're doing OK

Set up an account at Redbubble... right now it's all Edinburgh photos (and only a few, it takes a while to upload them.) I'm trying to stick to things I can imagine people would want to pay $70 for a print of... right now there are only a couple HQ enough for posters, most would have to be largeish photos or postcards.

You took all of these? Not bad. smile

My $20 of spices arrived today -- good day to have arrived, too, as it allowed me to make cardamom and pepper spiced tea soon as I got home (just the thing for when it's so horribly cold out as it was... the little puddles and birdbaths in the Meadows were all icing over.) I also have a giant tub of basil to use now....

I wonder if I should sneak through the house, turn off the vents on all the other radiators but the one in my own room, then just blast the heat and that way no one will know it's on or turn it off when they go to bed (even if I'm still up) or turn it off because they're too hot but I'm not.

I've...

I've done that a few times in old flats, it's all fine being conscientious on how much your heating bill is when you don't live in the coldest part of the flat!

I pretty much sleep like a mummy... with the right kind of blanket (thermal) as the one between you and cold hair, you can both breathe and be shielded from directly breathing cold air.

Today I learned that Cream of [Anything] soup basically just starts out as more White Sauce. I learned this from another blog that consists of nothing but public domain soup recipes.

I also went to the Elephant House Restaurant and drank overpriced hot chocolate (how did JK Rowling afford it when she was poor?) and discovered an Indian/Arab grocery I'll be visiting more often called...

My dad had sent me a little money to go out here and there, I guess he was tired of hearing about me sitting home alone all night. So this evening I went out and had 3 girly sort of martinis at a place called Centrotre. I had a Miss Martini which was vodka,Chambord, raspberries, cream and syrup; an Espresso Martini of espresso, Kahlua, and...

Those 3 martinis sound amazing. Not to mention on the sweet and sugary side. I really want some raspberries and cream right friggin now.
