Trying to use Google Image Search to locate paintings you don't remember the title for doesn't seem to work very well. "Nude male Adonis" turns up a lot of interesting things, but not what I was trying to locate.

One that's been giving me trouble for years is a picture by 19th century female artist Uemura Shoen, but I don't know the title of it;...

Good news: rebooked my flight so instead of 8:15 AM I leave at a more reasonable 10:45 AM -- they just changed it so that instead of getting to London via Chicago, it's now via Dallas; then the Heathrow to Gatwick to Edinburgh thing is the same. So I'll still probably have to be out the door early, like maybe 7:30, to get the fight,...

What's up with Europe and dryers? Seriously. My roommates and I just went out and bought one in Turkey, then sold it before we left, if I recall correctly. You might try finding a used one on the internet and purchasing it upon your arrival.

You should be able to find a local launderette where you can use the coin operated machines to dry your stuff, i know its all expense that you could do without but if you cant hang stuff outside to dry (especially if the weathers crap) its got to be better for your health than stuck in a room with wet/damp washing.
Good news on the flight, have you packed yet?

Grr... got notice today that my flight itinerary has been changed by the airline. It's rescheduled so that instead of leaving ABQ around noon, I'm supposed to leave around 8 AM (which given the 90 mins for security and the 70 min drive to Albuquerque means I'd need to be out the door at about 5:30 AM to catch the flight.) I'm supposed to call...

that's just nasty-- when that happens to me I stay at an airport hotel the night before -but getting a bigger layover gap in the UK sounds a good plan
I hope to work on your chart on Monday
waldo_jeffers:
Best of luck with sorting that out. An early start like that might seem unpleasant but you could catch up on your sleep once you are on the plane. Best bring a big book for that long wait in the airport!!! smile

Getting up that early is not as bad as it sounds. I normally get up at 5 am on Mondays to Fridays. Its not that bad really.

I happened to meet two very interestingly dressed old ladies at the mall today, who loved my outfit (I was wearing a long black cowl dress, my floral jacket and a wide hat with feathers on it.) I think both women had on leopard print jackets, one wore black eyeliner and red lipstick, the other had on metallic gold lipstick. One was named Bea, I...

30 days to Scotland... the pressure's on!

Got to:
Sort my stuff to figure out what items I might most likely need to have shipped to me
Print out my plane ticket info
Sell a bunch of spell stuff this week because it will be hard to perform it after this (ingredients usually take 1 or 2 weeks to arrive by post)
Maybe buy a...

Exciting! All those things to do are like part of the journey, even if it means you're going to be a busy girl it's still exciting!

Heh- I spent the last day of my Christmas break (yesterday) doing exactly the same thing. smile

And the style quite suits you.

Love it. Very beautiful.

I'm "re-discovering" TW myself, having received Seasons One and Two on Blu-Ray.

Apparently standing for 30 minutes in a too-hot room while slightly drunk, feels exactly the same as wearing a corset laced too tight.

Went out to eat with my sister and some friends, had a cocktail with dinner; then afterwards we were going to do karaoke at a bar nearby. The bar was really packed, really hot from all the people in there, and there...

Almost finished with the dress -- need to make one correction on the back, tack down the lining and finish the hem, all of which require the sewing machine which my dad keeps "getting out of the way" by putting into his bedroom, meaning I can't get at it when I'm ready to sew at 11PM.

This is a peculiarly flattering photo of the dress...

Yay! First day in weeks where I didn't have any NEW pimples upon waking up!

And I seem to have had a weird dream last night inspired by my cadaver painting, in which I cut off one of my hands (but this somehow didn't keep me from still having 2 hands attached to my body) and kept it to examine how it looked once the...

Good news on the pimple front, aren't dreams the most wonderful mysterious things, I would love to be able to interpret them.
Your Cadaver painting is really good, you must be very pleased with the end result. Keep wellkiss
twotoast:
Makes sense, if I put hand on heart then I could find part of a dream would relate to something from real live, how events play out in the dream though that's something completely weird. I wonder if the same can be said for recurring nightmares.

Another Christmas down -- not bad! I was a bit moody early in the day as my hair would not form any kind of reasonable style, and with the skin troubles I at least need good hair to distract from it. 3 different hairdos later it was back in a usual bun.

Saw my grandma today for the first time since staying in her house...
