So last week I went and got certified for serving alcohol in the state of New Mexico. Unfortunately, even by the time the class was done with I was starting to feel this was a mistake. I got my certificate, so I am legal now to serve. Thing is, I was trying to think of some job I might enjoy that actually exists in this town, and tending bar at one of the cocktail joints sounded okay -- I like making and mixing things. However, I don't like people or being responsible for people (that's why I'm trying to quit magic) and unfortunately state laws seem to expect a bit more of that from the bartender than I'd had in mind. I don't actually give a fuck if you leave the bar drunk, you know? That's your problem. So I think I won't be looking into this, afterall. (There don't seem to be enough appropriate jobs anyway.)
