I wonder if I should sneak through the house, turn off the vents on all the other radiators but the one in my own room, then just blast the heat and that way no one will know it's on or turn it off when they go to bed (even if I'm still up) or turn it off because they're too hot but I'm not.
I've been having trouble sleeping the last week or so because of some kind of sinus congestion, and I finally determined the cause of the congestion is just that my room is too cold, and so if my head is exposed at all from my blankets, whatever stupid batch of nasal nerves that decide cold weather means your nose should run like crazy, go kick themselves on, and I can't sleep all night. The skin on my nose is getting all chapped from having to blow it so often and my neti pot is being no help since the cause is just the coldness and it all starts again soon as there is any cold temperature.
The cold is also getting sort of problematic in that it's discouraging me from going out. I'm getting bored! Unless there's something that I *need* to do outside, I'm disinclined to do it. It's not so much the cold -- it's cold inside too -- but the wind.

I've done that a few times in old flats, it's all fine being conscientious on how much your heating bill is when you don't live in the coldest part of the flat!

I pretty much sleep like a mummy... with the right kind of blanket (thermal) as the one between you and cold hair, you can both breathe and be shielded from directly breathing cold air.
