I happened to meet two very interestingly dressed old ladies at the mall today, who loved my outfit (I was wearing a long black cowl dress, my floral jacket and a wide hat with feathers on it.) I think both women had on leopard print jackets, one wore black eyeliner and red lipstick, the other had on metallic gold lipstick. One was named Bea, I think the other was called Merlina or something like that. It was nice to get some compliments -- they insisted I looked about 17 and had a perfect appearance. (I suppose one weird advantage of acne breakouts is they make you look younger because they're more commonly associated with teens...)
And speaking of the acne, sadly I had 2 new zits on my face when I got up this morning and another developed by evening. My back seems to be getting it now, as well. I think I might go out and buy some Clearasil, it's actually got a stronger dose of benzoyl peroxide than my prescription stuff and doesn't sound too expensive.
Also some more good news: checked my bank accounts and I have just over $5,000 saved up, so if I can earn at a good rate this month -- and assuming I can find a place in Edinburgh for my target >450 a month -- I should be arriving with enough money that I could theoretically live frugally from that alone even if all my book royalties and things dried up soon as I got there (which I hope won't be the case!) I guess that means I've been averaging about $850 a month somehow. (The one downside: I probably will have to pay taxes this year.)
