Well Paris is no fun at all at this point. From Wednesday all I've really done is stuff related to getting a place to stay, with no success. It is far too expensive to keep staying in hotels and the checkout vs. check in times are unfavorable. My hopes of being able to stay at the Territory are no more, and the idiot waited so long to reject me that all my backup apartments got rented out. Hotels cost as much for a week as I can afford to pay for a whole month, and I speak French so badly I can't negotiate prices or anything.
And I can't go back to the US because I don't have anywhere to go there.

oldernow:
check out communes in northern scotland - Inverness, Thurso, Ullapool etc. Findhorn ... "self-catering" cottages can be quite cheap and it's not that expensive to get there from Paris.
