Was out walking with my dad and found two freshly dead cats, without obvious marks of violence. I called the New Mexico Animal Cruelty hotline since we figured someone was probably killing cats (either poisoning them or strangling them or something.)
In happier news, I made my first whoopie pies today. I'd only heard of the things before, but lately they're getting mentioned all over the place -- seem to be the new Baked Alaska, the latest fashionable dessert. I made mine from a mix, so the frosting could be better than it is, but otherwise they seem to just be cake mix formed into cookie shapes and filled with something. I saw a recipe for green tea filling whoopie pies, maybe I'll do that at some point.
Related, my teeth have been hurting since October-ish whenever I eat sweet things (or at least a certain tooth on the upper left side has been.) Went to the dentist, got X-rays so they could see what the problem is and how to proceed. Only it sounds like they didn't find anything -- WTF? I mean it's nice that I apparently won't be paying for more dental work but then what is making my teeth hurt?

If your tooth is affected by temperature change, something's up (iced drinks or soup will do the trick). I've never heard of a tooth hurting due to something sweet, though. Maybe that tooth has achieved consciousness.

Sugar is actually a common aggravator -- it stimulates the nerve, if the tooth is cracked or has a cavity, thus causing an ache.
