Well, I'm not feeling too happy about my Kickstarter project. There's only 17 days left and I haven't gotten any new backers since day 3. It's not likely I'd be able to get the thousands needed in such a short time as is left.
I did finish a new screenplay in about 10 days. It's an adaption of some crappy book my cousin's production company bought the rights to -- nobody was able to come up with a good script for it, and the deadline was running out, so I was kind of their desperate measure. I was aiming for a kind of Buffy The Vampire Slayer tone to it, but I think it came out more like a cross between Beetlejuice and Pulp Fiction (a side effect of reducing the 350 page novel to a 117 page screenplay -- 70 pages worth of wordy psychological evaluations and buildup to make a character seem terrifying had to be condensed down to one or two acts of ultraviolence.) The villains in the story are a ripoff of David Bowie's character in Labyrinth, and a girl who is kind of a mixture of Elmyra from Tiny Toons and Alex from A Clockwork Orange.
