Studying still for that stupid World History SAT... I'm noticing how the whole institution of schooling and testing is discouraging to learning. This process whereby you have to learn something and then take a test on it basically creates a sense like now it's time to stop learning about this, you already ought to know everything (and shame on you if you didn't learn enough, now you get a bad grade and can't do anything else.) Whereas most stuff I learn about, I keep learning more about over the course of many years -- longer than most people ever go to school for.
The SAT is in about 2 days and I still expect I don't know an adequate amount about 20th century communism. There isn't very much good info about it that I can find.
