As far as I can guess, concerning that God-cursed douchebag and the idol of turd-worshippers (aka Ryan Kochevar and Adam Frank, whom I hope will be shunned by anyone that reads this) -- having now had about 5 days to angrily mull things over as my time is still being spent solving the problems caused by their stunt -- my guess as to their motives for suddenly leaving the commedia play and for insulting us all and trying to shut down the show, was that based on the single rehearsal they actually showed up for, they decided they were the only good actors and that the rest of us were hopeless. Admittedly they were the best actors at the first rehearsal, but I like to think the rest of us have been improving. That's my guess, anyway, pieced together by what they said.
I did go ahead and switch around two of the actors in the current cast: our Mezzetino wasn't very Mezzetino-y (even though he seemed to believe himself perfect for the role) and our new Pantalone just couldn't figure out the character at all. But what they kept doing for their assigned characters, I realized would be perfect if they were swapped -- Pantalone was coming off as way too charming (Pantalone is supposed to be a Mr. Burns or Ebenezer Scrooge type character), while Mezzetino was coming off as a more panicked version of Filburt Shellbach (Mezzetino is supposed to be kind of a Chico Marx type, or Figaro from the operas.) This was not exactly bad in and of itself, what they were doing, but it was bad for those particular characters. I hope this will fix the last of the troubles and everything can proceed smoothly from here onward. Except I have to go to that costume shop AGAIN now to get shoes in the new sizes for the actors.
