I finally had to take up Now The Maids and The Men a note and a half to get it to where I could sing it without killing my throat. I am the director, so the other guy has to do what I tell him! (But admittedly it might be a little easier for him higher, as well -- the thing is written for a bass, but he sounds like his voice may be a little higher. I haven't heard him sing it yet.) This means I have to learn it on violin in a harder key, though.

Today I made the last of the arrangements for the costumes, and happily the total came out under budget. The Pantalone and Flavio costumes look especially good.
