Merry Post-Christmas everyone!
The holiday went fairly well this year. The family had a bit more money this year than in the last several, so there were lots of presents and I think we actually used up all of our wrapping paper. I got a facial massager, an Anglo-Saxon Dictionary, an 18th century French dictionary (which has to be returned, though, because it's badly printed -- the contents of the book are not what the cover says it is), a coffee/herb grinder, a foot massager, essential oils, the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack, a LUSH shampoo bar, and authentic Tijuana Bibles from a friend!
We did our usual Christmas Eve buffet at the house and ended up with a lot of visitors. Christmas morning we had breakfast and my sister and her boyfriend came over. Then the whole family went to the unpleasant experience that is spending time at my aunt's house, full of cigarette and cigar smoke and no chairs and bad food. Then back home, where me and my parents watched the Columbo DVDs I got them.
There's also to be more parties tonight, as a family friend is moving away and so is having a going away bash.
I other news, I think I am relatively finished with Eugenie -- rewrites and all! So now, it is time to move onto the next play in the Beaumarchais project. Which could be just about any. Should it be a Figaro play? Should it be The Merchant of Lyon? I think my French isn't advanced enough yet for most of the parades, which tend to be written with phoenetic transcriptions of crazy accents, so those probably are going to be the last things I attempt.

I would probably do the same thing- I have a talent for navigating into awkward situations...
