Contemplating the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas:
Within the film, everyone, including Jack Skellington, appeared to believe prior to seeing him that Santa Claus ("Sandy Claws") was to be some kind of horrific Lovecraftian creature. This is probably why Jack believed it would be acceptable to send Lock, Shock and Barrel out to subdue him and bring him back. But, given this, why did Lock Shock and Barrel instantly think that double-crossing Jack and torturing Sandy Claws was going to be at all a good idea? I mean, they cross their fingers even as they agree to Jack's terms -- there was no discovery of new information to lead to a change of plans.
And just what would Oogie Boogie have done if there really had been an enormous, murderous lobster-man chucked into his pit?
