I think I'm going to have to learn how to make my own eyeglass frames, because these things I have are all-around not good.
Probably the biggest problem is that nosepiece. First, it looks like a breeding ground for dirt and bacteria (remember: I suffer from pretty severe cystic acne, and the only reason I don't look like the elephant man is because of all the medications I use to keep it under control.) Secondly, those little plastic things ruin my makeup. If I wore the glasses all the time it wouldn't matter, but I only wear them (indeed can only wear them) if I need to look at stuff more than about 4 feet away; but I spend much more time looking at closeup things like computers and books and tarot cards than I do looking at alpha centauri. If I need to wear the glasses for 5 minutes to see a news story on TV, when I take them off I'm left with two spots on the sides of my nose where the plastic things rubbed off my makeup, and I have to go reapply it. Finally, they don't stay put very well. I watched a Columbo and a Buster Keaton film tonight (wow, those are like the most old man things I could have chosen to watch aside from maybe Andy Griffith) and they kept slipping down lower than I wanted.
Also problematic is the way that light gets in from behind them and reflects off the inside, making it hard to see once again.
So based on all this, what I need is something approximately shaped like a scuba mask.
