Man, I wish I still had the original (retouched) photos from the Crude Furie photoset -- I would like to get some of those blown up huge and framed. The one where I'm in profile holding a leg bone, especially, I'd like in an oval frame. All I have anymore are the cropped SG copies with the logo in them. (See, the option existed to wait till the set was accepted and have SG add the logo, but I wanted to do it myself on the basis that I didn't want the logo put someplace that would be bad compositionally. Now, of course, I was working on the assumption these would be accepted...)
I suppose I could send them to one of those Chinese painting houses and have an oil painting done off them with the logo out. But I actually think I like them better as photos...
Anyway, I have in the works a plan for something about as close as I ever expect to get to making a sequel -- on Saturday I've arranged to have some photos taken to use or a portrait which I intend to be somewhat in the style of Thomas Gainsborough or Joshua Reynolds or one of those fellows. It's meant to be more a portrait, obviously, than the Crude Furie degli Orridi Abissi, and I'm contemplating including odd props relating to 'what I do' in the manner of some portraits -- writers would hold a book and pen, for example; a king might be with a map of his lands. Me, I'd probably have a laptop, a ton of books, crinkled papers everywhere, and novena lights. All while posed in a garden, likely; with a crazy sky behind that I'm certain I will need to Photoshop in. This one I actually am considering having converted into a true painting, but we'll see how it goes -- that would add a few hundred to the project cost. I intend to keep my clothes on in this one, so I'm not going through the crazy levels of prep-work I did for Crude Furie (exfoliation twice a day, lotion 3 times a day, lots of vitamin C to quickly heal any cuts or bruises as I typically get from a variety of casual sources. Plus I made a point to not eat anything solid for 24 hours before the shoot, since I know that gives me a smaller waist.) The hairstyle is marginally more simple for this new project as well, so I don't need to spend two days in curlers -- but I will have to remember to NOT wash my hair the night before, because it seems my hair when clean is a bit too soft and won't hold up how I need.
But I cannot let myself forget to iron my dress the night before.
