A couple days ago, the day came: I realized I could no longer see the TV from the couch. My vision's been on the decline some years but since reading from far away (like from a menu posted behind a counter) was pretty much the only time it ever became an issue, it wasn't really worth doing anything about. I should add, I really hate how I look in glasses. I've been told even by men who like chicks with glasses, they agree they do not suit me.
Anyway, my state coverage insurance covers vision, so I went ahead and made an appointment and got an eye exam done, and picked out some glasses from the selection of frames which the insurance will pay for. I chose the most inconspicuous pair (narrow metal frames) but still, have wound up with that song Marion, Madam Librarian in my head ever since...
In any event, I'll probably only use them to watch TV or the occasional concert or play. Everything else I kind of like without the glasses -- gets a sort of soft glowy look.

With my glasses, a realist.
Without them...
Looking through my left eye, an impressionist.
Looking through my right eye, an abstract artist.
Hmmm. I am mentally picturing you with glasses, and some styles would quite suit you, *I* think.
BTW, the vinegar didn't work. :\
