A new book out -- SWEENEY TODD AND THE STRING OF PEARLS.
Obviously not too new, the original version having been printed some 150+ years agone. The cover illustration was what made me want to print the book -- the idea of making it sounded too fun. The blood was done with a mixture of corn syrup, red food color and chocolate powder, as learned from a Red Velvet Cake experiment some months ago. The razor was bought on eBay, the pearls are my own. The sharp eyed might notice the string of pearls seems to be a little off -- yes, they were 'shopped in, as for compositional reasons it seemed better to do it that way that use the actual photos I'd managed of the blood and jewels together.
This is the original picture of the razor, free from enhancements and printing bizarrities:
In any case, Sweeney Todd has some competition on it -- friends, I call you gentle souls to action. If you don't want to buy a copy, might you just link to the book someplace on your blog? More backlinks help it show up easier when people search for copies of Sweeney Todd, so they don't just wind up with that edition where Johnny Depp is on the cover.
In other news, I am already working on some more books, including one that's actually going to have some ORIGINAL writing of mine (gasp!) Fiction too -- that's already a weird experience I can tell you. The relationship to the work is a little stranger than when it's nonfiction or a reprint of someone else's writing.

Yeah, the shadowing on the pearls is a little off, but I only noticed after you gave it away. Good job!

You are prolific. I'm not sure when I journal next, but will keep your request for linking in mind when I do.
