Since we're "moving" in a couple weeks, I need to buy a new computer because I might not be able to stay wherever my parents are, and my main income is via online tarot readings so this is an essential work thing. I found an Acer on sale for $300, but the sale is only through today. It's not my ideal computer, but I have a suspicion that I can't afford my ideal computer (frankly, I can only afford the Acer in the sense that it requires every cent I have.) The main issue is that the Acer comes with almost no software, not even Word, so I'll have to buy all that separately, probably over time as I can afford it; and since it uses Vista none of my existing software can be transferred over.
Yesterday I did spend a little money to cheer myself up, I splurged $16 on Bellini mixer and the cheapest sparkling wine the Cost Plus World Market had to offer. I had this money because I sold a bunch of books to the used book store -- I decided I was probably never going to read Jellyfist or or Making Money or The Grimoire of Armadel ever again, and Shakespeare's Tragedies was obsolete since I later bought The Complete Works of Shakespeare. $21 plus a book of Elizabethian songs was my yield.

Are you sure you couldn't do better on Craigs List? There are a lot of disused computers out there fully loaded with software. If you can't find better locally, let me know. I may be able to locate a better option for a similar, if not lower cost.
