I saw Mr. Hat today for probably the last time I'll ever see him. Funny thing is it would have been just about a year ago that we first met... In fact, this old post would have probably been made on the equivalent evening, since it was with him I got those "ghost orb" pictures.

I feel he's getting a little big for his britches...

Yesterday I ate fish and chips with garlic mayonnaise and chile sauce, and a coke float, and then I tried to have a light dinner so had an egg in a hole and some toast (with marmalade)

I'm going to have to really adjust my diet in America... even in Scotland, now that it's warmer, I'm putting on weight ("You just look petite instead of...

Petite is much better than gaunt.

It's when you ask "does my butt look big in this?" And he answers "YES" that you've got to worry!
Instead of eating just once a day why not do the "little and often" as that's supposed to be better for you

It's funny that the main artistic patronage I seem able to get is in the form of a Suicide Girls account... thanks to my sponsor!

I've been, for a long while, interested in the history of the song St. James Infirmary.

A few nights ago I was at a pub that had free wifi (my internet was down at home) and wound up making a discovery. This pub is a favorite of folk singers, and I was talking about St James Infirmary to one of the regulars. I mentioned I...

Didn't wind up going to Fridays for the 4th, but here's other things I've done since:

Ridden a motorcycle (first time)
saw Rosslyn Chapel
discovered Orange, Lemon and Ginger marmalade
made strawberry shortcake
went to a really loud Irish bar
attempted to visit Eastern Cemetery but it didn't seem to have public entry (it looked boring anyway)

My you have been busy, which of the 3 marmalades did you like? Sorry you didn't get to Fridays for the 4th, did you get to celebrate in another way?
Keep well
twotoast:
I didn't know that, we have always brought them as individual flavours, I'll have to give it a try, thanks

Debating if I should eat anything other than biscotti and french fries today.

A month left to go. Were I on vacation that would be lots of time to do many many things. Here it feels like so little time... and yet I'm lacking for things to fill it with, because I've done all the tourist junk already.

Tomorrow I'm probably going to go out...

I've literally just left a comment on your last entry and find you've posted another one, babe your quick.
So how are the bruises? Hope they are healing OK.
Happy 4th of July for tomorrow. TGI sounds good but if you haven't got the money there's always McDonalds or KFC for that authentic American cuisine biggrin

About 30 days left in Scotland. I am starting to have chest pains again, which in Santa Fe are actually very common (anxiety based.) It hadn't occurred to me that I've had very few in the last 5 months, till they started up again.

I am thinking of maybe getting a piercing before I go. Get it done in some kind of reasonable, classy Scottish...

Bath and Bristol were fun, and now we're back in Edinburgh with about 34 days to go before I'm supposed to leave. I have a feeling these are not happy days ahead, unless I can really stay occupied. Already getting a headache and feeling lots of facial tension. I am not looking forward at all to returning to the US.

I suppose I ought to...

I'm kind of fascinated by the Scottish (British?) practice of getting 'kebabs' after going out drinking. That which is called a kebab here is pretty much take-out friendly Middle Eastern/Greek food, with pizza and french fries also usually offered.

I'm fond of the "Chips with Doner Meat." Doner meat is Gyros meat in the US. When you buy it, they give you a layer of...
