Got lucky tonight -- I was falling behind on my daily quote for the Petit Albert translation (trying to do 10 pages a day.) It was looking like I'd be skipping sleep altogether when I discovered that there were like 6 pages in a row (out of 10 I needed to do) that were nothing but illustrations. So I was able to actually surpass my...

I got kind of an idea in the shower earlier; something along the lines of Kickstarter, but specifically for projects for me to do. Maybe focusing on translations.

It could be a site listing some projects, or maybe a single project, or maybe it could be done taking requests for suitable projects; and it would list some amount of money I would need to earn...

Doing well at keeping myself plenty busy here in my sister's basement. I think I got everything clean to a point where it only needs normal cleaning now, instead of break-through-the-outer-crust-then-scrub-off-the-real-filth cleanings. If I can actually force myself to follow through, I figured out a difficult but possible plan to finish my translation of the Petit Albert in 10 days. I just need to do...

I can't believe my sister lets her basement and cat boxes get so filthy and yet will throw out a can opener because she believes that old story about rust causing tetanus. She's more likely to get it from that cat box!
grayness:
Agreed. Rust just gives you extra iron. wink

Some good news: I got a part in the commedia dell'arte play that I auditioned for! While this does bind me to remain in Minnesota through at least February, it is at least for a commedia dell'arte play!

That's fantastic! Congrats! biggrin

Feet seem to be functioning in a mostly normal way at this point. The frostbite was luckily mild, with only a couple spots on my apparently much more chilled left foot that looked like they wanted to become blisters but didn't quite get that far. I wrote a complaint letter to the Metro Transit about their bus that I'd had to wait for for almost...

I seem to have gotten frostbite. Let's see if I retain my feet through the end of the week.

The bus I had waited an hour for decided it just didn't need to stop at the bus stop for me.

Yikes! That's awful. I hope your feet end up being okay.

Must solve bank problem. Must solve bank problem. I guess I could do a credit union but it all seems so annoying. Some of the old hippies on my Facebook got mad when I mentioned I didn't care whether I banked with a Wall Street Bailout bank as long as they had the customer service and things I needed.

And SG has come to my...

Switched from BofA to a credit union years ago, and they're a hell of a lot nicer and don't slam you with bullshit fees. I just get my cash from grocery stores instead of ATMs whenever I shop. Just sayin, you don't lose out; at least, I didn't.

Everything is costing too much. I spent $32 this week on nothing whatsoever (bank fees, return shipping for clothes that don't fit.) I made $30.

I need to find a new bank because BoA has made the fees and the requirements to avoid the fees both too unreasonable. But I need a bank account I can open without a state ID. I was looking at...

I really should be working on my translation of the Petit Albert, but instead I seem to want to spend all my time on that Gibson Girl fashion blog. I have the posts all written through May 2012 already.

Yeah, it would be nice if I could actually do it! I was getting a page or more a day for a while in Santa Fe, now I'm lucky to get 3 sentences done, even if I sit there all day at it. I can't seem to concentrate.

Hmmm...sometimes I've found a break can be helpful for that sort of thing, but sometimes it's useful to plow through the tough spots until the going gets easier again. It can be so hard to know! *insert facepalm emoticon here*

Have you consulted your cards? smile I've got Froud's faery deck that sometimes helps me out, though they often just make my head spin faster. Those faeries can be tricksy, they can.

I've been to two occult shops in the Twin Cities: Magus Books and Botanica la Hoja Verde. I like the botanica a little better since it's more my kind of gear, but Magus at least has English as the primary language of the place.

I'm wondering about teaching a dumb little class at Magus for the sake of promoting my books. I might have to...
