So my landlord seems to have given me the wrong key to the front door of the house. This means every time I leave the house, I have to wait around on the stoop until someone else happens to come in or out and run through the door while they have it open.
Combined with the slightly terrible cold (it's not unbearable outside because I'm...

Electric blankets are amazing things. I don't know how I lived without one.

Also, I feel weirdly guilty when I put Tabasco sauce on Scottish food.

Haggis with Tabasco? wink
twiggy:
don't, my dad's a proper scot and he douses everything in Tabasco.

Okay, in Scotland!

And totally freezing because even indoors in January no on bothers to turn the heaters on (they seem to just exist for vanity's sake.) Are electric blankets known around here?

Depending on the building, if it's old with high ceilings then it'll cost you a fortune just to heat that room up for half an hour...
twiggy:
yes, buy an electric blankie!

Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!!! I finally got good news about a room in Edinburgh, with 3 days to spare. So, provided I don't show up and disgust all the other flatmates, the tiny bitty room by the Meadows/Bruntsfield Links is mine.

And today my parents took me out to breakfast at one of my favorite breakfast places that we never go to because it's usually too expensive, then...

So I went ahead and called the house wars in favor of the tiny little place that the guy seemed anxious to rent to me, I wrote saying I'd take it... and now I'm not hearing back from him frown

Meanwhile, my dad's scheme to get me a phone to use in the UK sounds like it's failed. He made me get an iPhone (I've never...

I agree with the above comments, it might be best to go for a pay as you go mobile when you get to the UK.
There should be lots of shops owned by different phone companies in Edinburgh, it's always best to shop around to get the best deal.
fbprince:
I agree with the above too. When my borther moved to Glasgow couple of years ago, he got a pay as you go phone from T-Mobile for 20 pounds.
This is probably the easiest option for you...

I am a little disturbed by the set on the front page, called Tea Time and which then shows in the previews a picture of some girl's bare ass. Reminds me of a pornographic Beauty and the Beast fanfiction I once read where Mrs. Potts was anally raped to the point of incontinence. That same story also became famous around Godawful Fan Fiction for Belle's...

Another friend on SG was having some adventures with a found fish head, causing me to get this song stuck in my head:

And while given the blurriness of that video, it's unlikely anyone will notice this, one of the singers of that song began his career as this little kid:

I know it sounds like an urban legend on par with that 'Marilyn Manson...

Don't you do it. Don't you put "Fishheads" in my head, too.

Goddamn it I think it may already have happened.

I think I'm developing some psychic powers. I've been working on spirit communication over the last few months, and it seems spirits are offering up their advice on their own now... on Friday I went out to eat at a restaurant I go to often, and spotted on the menu a salad I wanted. Suddenly a little voice in my head cried out to me,...

Sorry I've missed a few updates, so to recap, bummer you're still without a place to stay, but im sure it will all work out, love the cape that should keep both the cold and any unwanted natives a bay, good news on the coat lining, the painting is amazing and woo hoo only 14 days to go!
aristophanes:
I showed this to my mother, she says it's a good representation but that I omitted "the smoke and trips to the post office."
