So I was checking to see if my dental piece was up for the diabetes website and lo and behold a similar piece (not mine) was up. Confused, I called the editor to see what was going on. It turns out they decided to go with another piece (you know, after a month perhaps they could have told me). So I'm getting a kill fee for the article and can shop it around to some other newspapers/newletters/magazines. I fax it off when I get ready to send the children and type one diabetes article out.
I'm also sending in some pics for a photography contest sponsored by the institution where I completed study abroad.
I have an article coming up on green building in Charlotte and Bark in the Park. The autism month story got axed. Since the AIDSWalk is May 3 in Charlotte, perhaps I can shop a piece to the paper about that.
Hopefully I'll be able to go to the ARTSFEST-since I missed most of the week working on articles (ironic, since I did an aritcle on the event). I also missed the NoDa film festival.
So far I'm applying to two magazines and a graduate publishing program for the summer.
