Come one, come all. Pull up a chair... I have a story to tell.
Once upon a midnight dreary...
ROFLMAO. Sorry I just couldn't help myself there. But yes... I kid, I kid... Anyway here we go.
Once upon a time, there lived a strange...weird...odd little girl. She was a bit different to say the least. Never quite fit in, and her peers and elders never let her forget it. She tried and tried to find her place in the world, but she was never really accepted for who she was. She learned to mirror well and wear a mask for others, but... the loneliness she felt only deepened.
It's hard to grow up in a world where the people around you think something is wrong with you, and see your differences as reasons to bully you...exclude you...abuse you...and throw you away.
Neurodivergence can be a bitch to understand when intolerance is taught as normalcy. Being on the autism spectrum can be torture to live with when your way of experiencing the world is constantly being invalidated, and seen as something to fix.
Well, that little girl grew and grew..all the while her heart ached for the day when she would find herself amongst people who let her be herself without making her feel anything less than accepted for it.
I am glad to report that after many years of waiting, that day finally came. The woman you now know as Arcana Suicide, finally got to see the day she dreamed about as a little girl come to fruition. It all happened this passed weekend at an LA shootfest hosted by @courage suicide.
The overnight attendees consisted of some of the most beautiful models that are part of our SG community. Make sure you go to their pages and show them the love they deserve. Of course beauty can be found in someones outward appearance and looks. But, beauty is also found in who they are as a person. Each of these models are beautiful inside and out, and here is just a few of the reasons why.
@courage is effortlessly classy, sexy, and just a little bit ratchet...respectfully though. Courage made the entire weekend possible. Not only is she a beautiful model, she is an awesome photographer.
Thank you for shooting me. You made me feel comfortable in my skin during our shoot, which I haven't felt in a long time. That sense of ease you gave me is a gift that not many people have, but I am sure is what will add to your success as a photographer and model. Scratch that....as an entire human being. I love people who can help people love themselves. You are proof that unicorns exist. lol
@vintage is the second coming of Bettie Page, and no...we are not worthy! She works in healthcare and stills manages to grace the SG community with photosets. Vintage is a retro queen who can rock bangs and stockings like no other.
It started with a difficult garter belt! lol I am so glad I finally got to get to know you a bit more last weekend. You will not be a hopeful for much longer...if I had a million dollars to bet on it I would. Your look, your vibe, your sets....they all scream SG. I would love to do a set with you sometime this year if you're up for it. The glow up looks magnificent on you.
@laala gives Venus goddess vibes all day everyday. She manages to pull off girl next door energy with the sultry vixen confidence that oozes sexiness in everything she does. Besides her looks, she has a kind and open heart.
It was hard finding a favorite photo to post, but I chose this one because your shape is so beautiful in it. I loved and needed our little chats more than you can imagine. I don't get many chances to open up and share my thoughts in life with many people, because I am usually the one stuck being the listener. However, you made it easy for me to share a bit about myself. You were a joy to meet, and I will definitely come by your neck of the woods when I got to AZ. And again... THANK YOU FOR THE DANCE!!!!! lol
@brynx is a complete powerhouse. She radiates a calm strength, and is so much fun to be around. Among other things, she is a model, photographer, and entrepreneur. She runs a successful business called Kynx by Brynx, that you should definitely take a look at.
I love your energy! Being around you made me feel really good. Thank you for shooting me, and dealing with my hot mess. Those boots were NOT made for walking in that set...they're still in a bag all muddied up in my bedroom. lol I look forward to seeing you as a staff photographer for Portland and shooting with you again. You let me get dirty and I loved every second of it! lol
@laynilux is like a beautiful fairy. Half the world believes it's impossible for her to exist and the other half is beyond grateful to know that she does. After everyone made it back to the air bnb Saturday night, we all got to celebrate Laynilux going PINK. Yes...she went Pink at a shootfest! Surreal.
Congratulations again Layni!!!!! I am so happy I was there for all the excitement, and to share in all the joy. I hope for many more SOTD's and look forward to seeing you grace the front page of our community!
@sinnabunny is a rare jewel within our community. A unique voice that everyone should hear here at SG and beyond. They are a model, photographer, and run a business called Glutton for Punishment. They were even kind enough to provide all of the shootfest attendees an acrylic paddle, stickers, and pins from their store. Sinnabunny is one hell of a party starter!
I enjoyed listening to your views on various subjects including gender and relationships. Your willingness to educate those of use with questions, and your openness with everyone was something to be admired. I felt safe enough to ask you for a hug when I started to feel overwhelmed and felt like I might dis-regulate, and I am so thankful you said yes. I needed it! I can't wait to see you again, and hope to shoot with you soon.
Two peas in a pod. @skies and @belladona go together like peanut butter and jelly. Both gorgeous, friendly, and laid back, but know how to have a good time. Watching them together is magic. When it works...it just works, and they a perfection together.
Watching you to together and chit chatting with you both made me wanna go and find my bestie. I don't know where I will find them, but you both made me wanna start looking. And that's saying a lot, cuz I am terrified of people lol. I look forward to seeing more of your work together, and hearing about all of your future adventures.
There was another model who stayed the weekend, but has yet to make her debut on the site. All that can be said for now about her is that SG is in for a treat when she graces our community with her presence. She will be tagged in this blog when she arrives.

But in all seriousness...thank you all for your kindness, friendliness, and inclusiveness. I never once felt out of place with you. When I needed to be on my own for a bit, I was able to be....and @sinnabunny always came to find me when I was gone too long (you are amazing for that...for someone like me, that gesture was everything!), and when I was ready to mingle it was like I never left. you all helped me to feel good in my skin again, and ready to continue my lifes journey being 100% unapologetically me, because you all showed me it was okay to do so.
Words can't fully express my gratefulness. I adore every single one of you.
And just like that...that little girl found her place in the world, and that woman found the freedom to live her life without fear of letting people in.
Life is best lived...authentically.
