Today I got an update. This all started on August 25th, mind you:
Dear Mr *****,
We're sorry for all the trouble we have caused. It took us a while, but
your case lead us to a flaw in our database, that caused the
blacklisting of your key in our database. Please find a new keyfile
attached to this email. We'd like to "reward" you with 30$ to your
paypal account if you have one. That may compensate the trouble a little
bit. Please accept my apologizes.
Best regards,
John Smith

and then after my response:
Hi,
Our CEO, Giancarlo Bettini just sent $30 to your Paypal account.
Again, we're sorry for the trouble. Have fun now with our software now.
If you ever run into trouble again, we'll try to solve your problems faster.
Happy Holidays!

I guess the persistent little bastard that I am can pay off occasionally.
Happy days for me
