Shortly after the last time I updated, I was forced to give in and go to the hospital.
They poked at me with needles, took some of my blood, gave me an IV of antibiotics, and an oral surgeon came and abused my mouth a bit.
It was awful but they gave me antibiotics and painkillers to try and end tis madness.
Yesterday I was forced to go to the hospital again. It hadn't really gotten any better. Actually, it was a bit worse. The swelling hadn't gone down any, I couldn't open my mouth enough to even get a spoon into it, and swallowing was only something I could do when I had to take another pill that was supposed to fix this. I was weak from not eating anything other than small amounts of pudding and applesauce for days, and I was very close to being out of painkillers.
I gave in and went. They took a bunch of my blood, gave me an IV full of hydrating goodness, then they gave me another IV of morphine, then they followed that up with 3 shots of numbing stuff in my mouth. The same evil oral surgeon then forced his fingers into my mouth and made some sort of hole in my gums. Then he squeezed a bunch of pus out of the infected area. That's right. Pus. Ewwwwwwwww!
I had the most disgusting taste in my mouth after that.
So then they switched my antibiotics and now instead of taking 2 pills 3 times a day I have to take 1 kind of pill 4 times a day and another pill 3 times a day. Plus the painkillers. I hate swallowing pills.
When I left the hospital, I rushed to get Dick's while my mouth was still numb. I managed to eat most of a meal before the feeling came back and it hurt to chew again.
I feel much better now. I still can't really open my mouth at all, but I can swallow and the swelling has nearly gone away and I think that I could eat if only I could manage to get something into my mouth.
It might not be much longer until I'm 100% again.
Except for the fact that I have an appointment on Wednesday to get this tooth removed. Just the one. Which means I'll have to go through this again probably.
Also, I had no choice. They made the appointment for me and even if I was going to try and get out of it, I know of a few people who would probably find me and drag me there.
They are all pure evil. The surgeon. The hospital staff that lectured me about going to the surgeon. The people that will drag me to the surgeon. I'll keep having nightmares about all of them until this is over. After that as well, depending on how the surgery goes.
Help me!

and no matter how I may wish for a coffin so clean
or these trees to undress all their leaves onto me
i'll put my face in the dirt and then finally i'll see
the sky that has been avoiding me...
So just hearing that and the two Elliott Smith songs at exceptionally low points just really burned them into some certain part of my brain.
And M.Ward? It is a weird scenerio with him. I hear him now and again when one of my friends is playing him and I have a couple of his tracks on my computer, and I really really like what I hear. But I have never had a chance to just have a few drinks and really sit down and take in one of his albums. Basically it is just a matter of time before I get around to becoming a rabid fan.
