So, post-"Not-getting-serious" talk, I wake up to an email from Steve with a story about his family's reaction to his father's death from the Washington Post. He said that if I wanted to read it, he'd send me his writings on the subject, which he wants to turn into a book.
Now, I am flattered and thrilled to read it, but..umm...isn't that kind of a lot to give to someone that you just basically decided that you don't want to be serious with?
Oh well.
It made me cry. And then just made me cry again thinking of it. And I haven't even read his journals. I'm saving that for this weekend when I have time to sit down and really fucking cry for a while, and then can call him up just to say hi, and that he should call me in the middle of the night when he can't sleep with nightmares.
I'm getting really good at this loving-people-without-being-in-love bit. I think I'll probably end up marrying someone that I feel this way about. That sounds horribly pragmatic, doesn't it?

heh... i'm wondering if the elivated body esteem works with every bodypart. right after i got the star i thought how cool it would be to put a couple little cherries on my upper thigh... but i'd probably really hate that when i'm 40.
