Ok, for those of you who are unaware, I started therapy this past Thursday. I joined the Psychiatric Day Treatment program, and will be going three times a week. It is essentially a very intensive group therapy session. This first session, I didn't get much out of, but once I get used to the people, hopefully I will be able to get something out of it. I just really want to get my life back on track. I'm not sure exactly what changed, but my bi-polar has beek kicking my ass left and right lately. One of the psychologists actually explained bi-polar type II to me in a way I had never heard of before, but it makes sense. Essentially, it is like carrying a huge dog around with you, everywhere you go. If you don't try to tame it, and neglect it, it will get pissed off and start trashing around, lashing out at things and pushing you around every which way. If you nuture it, and take care of it, it will learn to behave, and it will be like it's not even there. And even if it has been calm for a long time, a change in environment (emotional or physical) can drastically affect its temperament. So something happened, and I'm not sure what. And things just got worse. It started about six months ago, and then got really bad after I broke up with Rosis a couple months ago and all of the shit surrounding that happened. Hopefully therapy will help shed some light on what else is going on, and help me learn to cope.
