It has been quite a while since my last blog post here. I have been in Portland, OR for a full two years now, and much about me has changed. Music is still a pretty important part of my life, but I no longer play or write any music on a regular basis. Last summer, my father passed away and I haven't been very successful...

So I've been in Portland for a few months now, and I finally really like the place. For a while, I was just incredibly depressed because I didn't know anybody here, and just felt really alone all the time. But now, I have friends, my financial situation is good, and I feel like I'm finally a mostly-responsible grownup - and yes, that's a strange feeling...

So, I'm just about to leave Ohio. Yesterday, I picked out an apartment here in Portland, Oregon, and I will be moving at the end of November. I have a job as an electrical engineer with a pretty good company, and should be traveling around a lot. Not sure what compelled me, but I thought that I'd return to this site to see what has...

So the Tool show last Thursday was amazing, as I expected it would be. It was only the second Tool show that I had ever attended, so it was still really cool to see one of my favorite bands doing their thing. I most enjoyed the extremely positive, loving atmosphere of the entire concert. Maynard greeted us all with "Hey stoners", which we all were...

Massive Attack definitely goes in my top 5 bands that I've seen live. I haven't seen Tool yet, but I hear that they're amazing. I did see APC and they also have a place in my top 5.

How and where ya' been otherwise man?
doctashock:
Good luck with the lady my friend. We'll see how this goes on my end.

Wow, it has been a retarted long time since I've posted. I keep meanging to and then... well... I don't really know. I guess I fail at life..

Any, in June, I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University. I'm currently attending the same university to pursue a Master's degree, focusing on neural networks and control theory. So far, classes aren't...

Hey! How are you doing? Great to hear the bachelor's is done and the Masters is going well. smile

I was just telling someone the other day about being at a party with a bunch of people I met through what is fundamentally a pornographic website, talking to someone about loop quantum gravity, and interrupted by having a condom balloon shoved into my hands. =) I thought you'd find that amusing.

I glanced back through my blog to see if I'd ever made a detailed explanation of what prompted the move, but if you go back far enough, all I really say at one point is that I'm going, and it's to follow my PhD advisor. Given, there's not really much more than that to it, but I'm excited anyway. smile

I had a very vivid dream a few days ago. It was wonderous, but extremely saddening...

* * *

We were holding hands, laying on a soft, grassy hill, staring up at the starry night sky. We talked of everything and nothing, just relaxing, enjoying each other's company. And what company it was. I felt so at home, at peace, and yet so invigorated and...

I thought about seeing one of those fakey psychic people (btw - she happens to drive an Escalade - lol) but then I didn't want to spend that kind of money on my own amusement. I think we should do something creative. what do you think?

Ok, for those of you who are unaware, I started therapy this past Thursday. I joined the Psychiatric Day Treatment program, and will be going three times a week. It is essentially a very intensive group therapy session. This first session, I didn't get much out of, but once I get used to the people, hopefully I will be able to get something out of...
