Well, today is definitely going to be weird. I'm going to the courthouse to see a man being sentenced. Why? Because I was one of the twelve people who decided that he commited second-degree murder.
Jury duty is messed up. Too see the gory details of my experience, go here.
Hopefully it'll bring me some closure and my health might improve. My immune system shut down during the trial and things just haven't been the same since. Wish me luck!

JM Sentenced
Thu Mar 24 2005 - JM was formally sentenced in court today for the May 2002 murder of former girlfriend, 21 yr old JN. Saying "men must stop murdering their lovers" Justice JD sentenced the 27 yr old JM to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for 14 years. The sentence came at the close of an emotional day-long hearing, some 3 months after a jury had convicted the former boxing champion of second degree murder. Before being sentenced, a sobbing JM apologized in open court to sobbing members of his own and the JN families. His lawyer MW says they'll consider appealing. JM has been in custody since the May 2002 murder and could apply for parole in about 11 years.
