Good day everyone, well I hope it is good
What a very fun week. As previously stated in my last blog I had borrowed my sister's Nintendo Wii as I was off from work. Each morning I would do my 8-Minute Abs workout, eat a high fibre breakfast, followed by a workout provided by rdpixie and then a good hour on the Wii. Each day I got a little bit better at every game and my Yoga ability improved everyday also.
On Thursday I met Umeko, once again we went to Camden Town, but unlike our last trip this time I bought the awesome jacket I referred to in my last blog and like last time I bought myself a wicked Cyber Dog tee. I also purchased Phonogram: The Singles Club which I am looking forward to reading. After spending way too much money we went to The Electric Ballroom, to see Reverend Horton Heat, which was the first time either of us have been to the venue for a gig. The opening band was awesome, lyrically dull, but musically they sounded like a B-Movie soundtrack. The main band were Rockabilly - a mixture of Rock n' Roll and Country music - and during the gig they performed songs which were Rockabilly, some which were Rock n' Roll and others that were Country, this overall made the gig highly entertaining. But like Umeko stated on her blog, we were both tired towards the end of the day, so we did not enjoy the gig as much as we would have liked to.
Despite many people not being able to come on Friday, it was still very fun, baudot and myself went to The O2 to see KICK-ASS. The film was so awesome, I would give it 4.0/4.5 stars out of 5 as despite having some hilarious scenes and overkill fight sequences there were moments that annoyed me, mainly because I preferred how they were done in the comic book - though I understand why they changed what they did - but I will still definately be buying this when it comes out on DVD/blu-ray.
Saturday was my cousin's wedding. For me the best part of the day was, for the first time, wearing my new suit and shirt/tie combo. I know that probably sounds harsh, but it was the wedding of a cousin I have not seen since I was little and therefore don't really remember her, that and the wedding was a Christian one and I hate that the vowels are to God - What the fuck has God got to do with your love for another person!?!?!?
Then Sunday was what Sunday should be, a day of rest, and it was a long rest as it was the night of WrestleMania XXVI so I needed to stay awake until the early hours of Monday morning. Personally I found the entire Pay-Per-View underwhelming, no one seemed to put on a show worthy of "the grandest stage of them all". Even Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels was dissapointing, after last years superbly entertaining match, this was nothing in comparison. I hope certain feuds make it to the next PPV, Extreme Rules, as people had good matches I just felt they had more to give.
Ok, enough with the past lets look towards the future.
Firstly I did not get the job I had the interview for but I have noticed that there has been an increase of similar jobs to apply for, so fingers crossed, hopefully this mean I might hear back from other employers and get another interview somewhere down the line.
In the near future, this time next week actually, I am going to Royal Albert Hall to see Opeth performing Blackwater Park in it's entirity. There are a few rumours about this concert, and I hope they are true, one is they will have a live orchestra performing with them on the night and also that they will be recording it for a new DVD/CD release.
That is all for now
