holy moly. i have to agree with j, the new streets record is amazing. my eyes welled up last night listening to track 10. you really feel his pain going from being the happiest man in the world to utterly bitter.
wow.
in other news, it was a really really nice sunday, after a hard week. the weather was amazing, i slept until noon, lazed about for a few hours, went to a friends photography show, and bought a piece for the future home that j and i will share. and then we went to eat yummy summertime burgers at the pontiac cafe. and i am deceived that it is earlier than it is because it is still light out at 7pm.
and i'm a little out of it due to satuday night's late hours etc. but it is a fairly peaceful tired. it was nice to watch adult swim and crawl into a warm cuddly bed.
i feel like i can face the week ahead. work will not be fun, but i can handle it. i feel hopeful. especially knowing i have the weekend in kansas city and the week in providence to look forward to. and spring. and my birthday. happy stuff coming up. it's going to be ok.

so much entertainment!
it was a lovely saturday morning in chicago, there was a fabulous breeze coming into my little apartment, and i had no where i absolutely had to be until 3pm sunday. ah! the bliss of waking up at 7:00 and realizing after a second that it is saturday, and going back to sleep for three hours.
friday night we saw kill bill vol. 2. i won't say anything about it except that i found it to be totally different from the first movie. i liked it a lot, and i liked the first one a lot, but i find the two almost incomparable. the crowd was good and i saw some previews that looked interesting, the funniest being an airplane hip hop movie starring snoop dog.
ME: we must go see that!
J: are you being serious?
ME: (laughing) yes!
J: but it will try to have a plot, and that will ruin it.
ME: you're right, we can just watch the preview over and over.
we were planning on going to fabrile's party friday night, but got too pooped out. we ended up just going back to my place and watching the last 2 episodes of season seven of deep space 9. holy moly! it was so emotional! we both wept openly for the last 10 minutes or so. there is something about knowing that this is the end of a narrative that was alive for seven years, and that the characters stop here. i felt the same way about firefly. but this was even more like saying goodbye to deep and amazing friends. there was a certain peace about it too though, that i did not feel about firefly, because DS9 had a good run, and the end was satisfying on so many levels.
anyway.

Apparently there is going to be a Firefly movie out maybe next summer. At the moment, I think they are calling it Serenity. It was such a great, great show. Probably the best sci-fi since the Stargate series. Better than Stargate. Cancelling it was a crime.
Well - have a great day............
