sunday notes
*man, i'm kinda sleepy all of a sudden. we went to bed at 2, and oscar the cat woke me up at about 7:00 and just would. not. shut. up. i love him, he is the bestest kitty in the world, but man he can be annoying as shit sometimes.
*i am having a much needed quiet couple of hours, sitting with an extra sweatshirt on so i can keep the windows open. it has been a glorious couple of days here in chicago, and the entire city is basking in it. i felt like it was summer most of the morning, and last night really felt like a summer dinner party also...
*the dinner party. it was fun, and in such a cozy lovely apartment. sitting at the table, after a delicious dinner, window open and fan running, feeling warm and fuzzy from wine, having after dinner cigarettes...fabulous. and so nice to meet c and lm. and see books i love on their shelves, and share art and photographs, and 1am video game blowouts. fun evening.
*i am bailing on the oscars party i was planning on going to tonight. it likely means i will not be invited to any parties this guy throws again, but that's ok. we are not terribly close anyway, and he is supernice, but i really have enough stuff to keep me busy, so i won't mind him leaving me off the invite list from now on. i do feel bad that i have bailed on the last two parties he threw though. so j. and i will be enjoying pizza and academy awards at home.
* i like thinking of j. and home together. i like that quite a lot.
*lunch with a. was fun and relaxed yesterday, in spite of her repeated confessions that she was nervous. it was charming, and she is pretty, and while if either j or i were on a date with her alone, there might be some red flags, seeing her together might be just right. it feels good to be on the same page, and to see how much i have changed and grown in the past year.
* huh. i just noticed a big smear of chocolate on my jeans. good one, sylvia.
* i got some news from mj.com that is unbelievably flattering and surprising. details to come.
*i resigned from the arts group today. it feels good, right, and a long time coming. it's a relief.
*i only have one episode of firefly left, and it literally makes me cry. pop culture injustice. that's what that is.
* jh commented today on how well my friends and j's friends have interwoven. it's true. this week was a great example. mardi gras, the high llamas, church...yeah. it's good.
* i almost ended this post with *spring is coming*, but in reality it is a long way off. chicago has two solid months of winter left, i know this. but, in my heart, spring has come early this year.
