Crede tamen speculo quod te negat esse iuvencum.
--Publius Ovidius Naso
Ahh, the "Ars Amatoria." A book of great wisdom. I keep reminding myself of this line when I look in the mirror. I examine my reflection and ruminate . . . the past, the present, the future . . . and after a while, I come to agree with Ovid.
Non credo me iuvencum esse.
Didn't that sound deep? And THAT, my friends, is why you should learn Latin. The Ovid quote says "nevertheless, believe the mirror because it denies that you are a cow." Take Latin! Pretend to be deep! Impress your friends! Receive daily affirmation that, despite your increasing waistline, you have not metamorphosed into a bovine! (too bad there's no cow)
