The "cooties" have been identified. I have ants. I actually admire ants--such industrious little bug(ger)s. I cleaned my kitchen but they didn't go away . . . kind of like stray dogs, they keep coming back to the one who fed them. I explained that it wasn't fair because I hadn't fed them on purpose, but they would not listen. I decided to compromise with them by placing a bit of stale cake outside, near the area where I think they might be coming in. I hope this works. I hate pesticide.
