Oooh...basically a double-post from my oh-so-random LJ...
It feels so amazing to be able to come home and be 100% comfortable with her. I still can't quite believe that I met someone who makes me so totally ok with just being myself, even though I'm totally weird...and lame. I mean come on, she bought me a Protoman action figure the last time we were at CVS! How awesome is that? And how pathetic does it make me? Hahahaha...
Unlike my friends, I will not revel in what happened on Friday night...sufficiet to say that I learned an important lesson about mixing beer and liquer...oh, god...
Saturday was pretty ok though, despite spending half of it sick in bed. I got dinner (my first meal that day) with ectasia at Cempazuchi (see: totally awesome Mexican place near our house,) and then went to see The Scarring Party at Mad Planet. Its been a while since I've been to a real show, and it was rad as hell. Not only did I like ALL of the opening bands, especially Thunder in The Valley, but The Scarring Party played Time Bomb (the Rancid song), which was amazing and totally made my year so far! I also bought two CDs. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought merch at a show...jeez.
I recently picked up the debut album by the band The Protomen, which is basically a rock-opera about Megaman. It tells the story of how Dr. Light built Protoman to destroy Dr. Wiley's army of evil robots, only to have Protoman seemingly destroyed. Megaman grows up to find out about his older brother's fight to save the world, and takes off to seek vengance. But, of course, after he fights through Wiley's robot army, he discovers that the commander of the legions is none other than his "dead" bother, Protoman...the story comes off a bit (see: a lot) more dark than the game ever did...but it is totally epic. The outcome of this is, of course, I have been dying to play Megaman 2...*sigh*
Last week, ectasia and I went to Chicago, and I scored a new hat and some new sunglasses...
