This weekend, I played a variation on the board game "Guess Who?" that Mike had thought up. You see, it makes the game much more interesting if, instead of the traditional version in which you ask about objective distinguishing features ("Is your character a man?" "Does your character have facial hair?" "Is your character wearing a hat?"), you ask about what the character is really like under the surface ("Is your character a pederast?" "Does your character watch 'American Idol'?" "Does your character prefer to be on top?"). That way, it's a different game every time you play it. I won more times than anyone else playing. It ended in an arguement, though, when I revealed in one game that my character was Brandon and Mike and Steffan claimed I answered the questions wrong.
Brandon is fourth from the left, third from the right on the third row of the red board. He's also the one right under the "o" in "Who?"
I think it's silly that they could say my impression of him was wrong, but I thought it was very interesting that they had such convictions about who he was, when I didn't see what they were seeing at all.
You see, they said that Brandon was obviously an effeminate hipster, whereas I thought he was a middle aged blue-collar worker from Pennsylvania (maybe Pittsburgh or Bethlehem). They agreed when I insisted that he had the rugged face of a coal miner, but Steffan says his hat is fabulous. I guess I could see how the hat might be seen as a bit poofy, but everyone looks a little gay in this game, and you sort of have to account for that. Steffan says that there are no miners named Brandon, which sort of left me scratching my head. What on Earth does that mean? So, is there anyone who can make out that picture well enough or who can dig up a copy of the game and explain to me what exactly I am missing?
