So it's 5:07 am and I just got back from the oldest techno club in Berlin called Tresor. My mind is still trying to grasp how a club can pull in 800+ people on a Wednesday night, but somehow they do. The club was a really cool spot and apparently has played a major roll in the development of techno in general, and since it's sadly being torn down in a few weeks I'm glad I was able to check it out. I had probably the strangest experience of my trip thus far at the club. I made my way into the area where there was some deep house playing and stayed in there for most of my time, mainly because the music was good, but there was also drastically less smoke (and no smoke machines) so it was more comfortable. Anyhow so I'm in there and I end up making friends with this girl and talking to her about the club and Berlin. She was very nice, and goes and talks to a friend of hers who is a vendor there and gets me a Tresor pin for my hoodie (which I promptly, and accidentally lost). After that she goes on to tell me how she's a professional Dominatrix (I'm laughing the whole time, she has no idea why), and THEN unleashed her plan to me about how she wants to write Anthony Kedis (lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and invite him to Tresor, and to visit her in Berlin. I found this story to be very random and I kept asking her 'Why Anthony Kedis??'. I never got an answer to that but once she discovered that I lived relatively close to California she told me I should get in touch with him for her. I agreed, then ran away using the excuse that I had to go to the bathroom. She was very nice, but I was a bit weirded out.. but in a good and amusing kind of way.
I spent the day walking through the city by myself taking pictures and mainly just wandering aimlessly. There is so much amazing architecture and culture here, my pictures won't really do them justice. Then I made it back to the hostel and made a new friend from Japan named Tetsuya who ended up heading out for dinner with me in search of a vegan place called Yellow Sunshine. The food was quite good, and the decor reminded me of something you might see in Portland. After that we got a little mixed up and ended up taking 2 hours to get back to the hostel, but we entertained each other by trading mp3 players and listening to music. I think I love hostels, just because you meet so many cool and interesting people.
So anyhow, it's late and I'm tired. I've got tomorrow to hang out then I'm off to London.
Goodnight all. Thinking of you!

So could we theorize that people who are into house smoke less?
I've had many strange experiences in Germany but not quite like that and I have never been to London, Shame on me. Please tell it I said, uh,,,hi...and if you run into China Mieville ask him if I totally pissed him off in my last letter, because I always worry,
Cheers!
You're so lucky to be in Berlin! Anyway If you're around London and want to hang out (I don't have any obsessions with Anthony Kiedis) send me an e-mail Mayngel1@aol.com or leave me a note on my journal. Either way enjoy your trip and the awesomeness of London.
