As the weather grows colder, it gets harder for me to contain my excitement. This is my time of the year. Fall, for me, is when the best kind of food takes place. Hearty meals, preserved meats, all sorts of lagers and cold stored ales get their rebirth here...
Shouldn't be any surprise, then, that I'm taking up a pretty big challenge: feeding my fellow SGNYers who can make the up coming event on the 19th of Nov. Miss Siamkittie is being kind enough to lend me her kitchen and own culinary abilities so we can bring everyone together for an early Thanksgiving.
Now I've been working on a tentative menu this week, mostly gathering up ideas.I will start prepping many of the preserved items soon as I can narrow down my options. There are some many things that I'd love to do, but time is a major factor as well as the number of people who can make it. Though I think the only real hurdle to overcome will be the price point...
But I look to my grandparent's style of cooking, as always, for inspiration and am pretty confident.
