Just got back from seeing The Movielife, MXPX, and Good Charlotte, at the Seahawk exhibition center. ( I skipped out on New found glory)
Boy howdy, does that place suck. The accoustics were pure shit. I think the best part (other than MXPX) was all the parents I saw with their 8yo kids. I just freaking love to see kids at punk shows, it down right warms my heart and makes me giddy. I wish I had the cash to bring my own.
I took my son Asher to see Concrete Blonde, Ani Defranco and Lou Reed not to long ago (he's 5), and he just loved Concrete Blonde he rocked out and danced the whole set.
It's funny I've taken my kids to tons of shows before they were 6 but none after. My daughter Mikayla is 11 now and the last time I took her to a show she was 4. We saw The Deep Eynde at the Greenman Cafe, then I snuck her into club Fuck with the band afterward. It was so adorable watching her try to learn how to "pull taffy" like the rest of the goth folk on the dance floor.
I intended to take her to see Avril last month but her grades plummeted and I had to ...er I mean she had to lose out on the show.
Maybe I'll try taking the kids to see Goldfinger when they come to town. Too bad the Cramps aren't doing an all age show next week

I keep the kids on a pretty safe diet of bubblegum punk, They'll have to figure out I'm full of shit for themselves

I figured it out around 12 - but on a positive note, I finally resolved it this week. So there's hope for every parent! LOL
