hello! I've been really bad.
I haven't updated in ages. What's mew? hmmm... sbc says they don't even know when our dsl connection will be hooked up. How honest of them.
We had guests over! yay! I cooked a sort of quasi gumbo thing. I'm only calling it gumbo because there's no other easy way to describe thick spicy hot soup in english. Stew makess me think there'll be meat in it.
In my soup:
----------------
Anasazi beans. similar to pinto beans.
organic chicken soup stock
potatoes
two or three onions
garlic
dried mango peices,(unsulfered, without sugar added)
dried peach peices
a touch of ghee (clarified butter)
leftover wild rice
left over brown rice
Masa harina (corn flour) as a thickener,( lazy person't roux)
curry powder
chilli powder
Adobo (like I make anything without it...)
ginger
paprika
cayenne pepper
black pepper
mustard
basil
sage
a bay leaf.
tumeric
cumin
some green olives
and more things that I can't remember now.
and it cooked for what? four+hours. My only complaint with our gas stove is that the low flame could be lower.
So I went to capoeira class after a good afternoon hanging out in the kitchen and reading harry potter , and I invited everybody back to eat my soup after class and like five of them actually came! Yay! guests!
They all liked it except one person who can't eat spicy food. everybody had second helpings.
It was perfect too, because it was snowing as we left class (which is now like 2 blocks form our apartment.)
The dog, Baby is doing great. She loves taking her antibiotic since it means she gets a peice of cheese twice a day. Thank god, what an amazing turnaround. We were so worried- she's never even taken pills before. I'm taking her for a follow up next week.
I went and visited her today at my mom's house, and she's back to her base line self.
What else? I dunno.
I forgot how impatient I am with a dial up modem.

It's good to hear the pooch is feeling better.
And as far as dial-up modems are concerned, welcome to my Hell.
