Although we do tend to be more literal and pragmatic, there is no need to equate "corporate" with medical/math/science minded people. I think we can appreciate creative design as much as the the next person. As you say, it is a matter of what information needs to be communicated. A scientist may need to communicate very specific concepts or complex ideas.

As long as you portfolio demonstrates that you can communicate specific or complex information, I don't see why it should not be done in an expressive or creative way.

I think the fact that you are struggling with, and thinking about these types of issues is an indication that you are/will be a great designer.

Weren't we discussing that the problem I had with design is it wasn't being expressive enough for my taste....and you argued adversely? I remember you saying that if you could move someone with design then that is the greatest thing to do, so why would you go against your word and your heart? I was talking about the clients and the corporations taking design in a different direction....not personal but, more POP more like here make a nice typefaced J for a J Crew shirt.....wtf why would you do that to yourself? You are very smart and very talented I think you have to go with your feelings, understand what your teacher says, but don't sell yourself short and compromise your beliefs. If somebody says well you HAVE to do this in school, do it but stick to your guns. There you go....I should know, I have been getting a shit sandwich in class since school has started. Peace......

it's not going to be that bad, it makes you appreciate vacationing and the warmer minths all that much more. I couldn't live without the changing of the seasons, I need a little cold, a little rain or I would go nuts, a sunny day every day, I don't know how peo0ple do it, I'm not sure I could get used to it, oh, but the winter days on campus, walking from class to class, that is torture, you need someone to keep you warm

It's cheaper to arse around Europe for short breaks when you have money, and now I'm looking for another job so travelling is out. For the moment. Though I'm looking for a better paid job, so my travels could stretch a little farther heh.

Have you ever been anywhere over here in Europe? I'd say you haven't been here to Ireland anyway or you probably would have mentioned it already

The Autumn/Winter semesters are always the hardest. That biting wind just screams to you to stay in bed and miss those lectures

HighDive I have a love hate relationship with. When it first opened it was the hottest bar in town, they used to have awesome shows there, the people who hung out there were "cool" then it slowly turned into the bar where all of the very young campus kids would go, it turned into "DJ and dancing", the music was sacrificed for all the revenue coming in from the dj and dancing crowd. a lot of great acts have come through there and are forced to play a 7:30 show, then the kids roll in at 10:30, and it's like the show never happened. I'll still go if something decent comes through, but I don't hang out there if I want ot go dancing. all my friends are going to soma now, but I'm really a Mike n' Molly's, Blind Pig and Esquire guy, sometimes the brass rail too, we should go out sometime and do a "bar tour" what do you say? get a taste of a bunch of them?

Glad you like the suit, it's my one and only all purpose suit. Be amazed as it turns from a graduation suit...into a funeral suit with only the change of a tie!

Have just been taking a look through some of your pictures, I hope you don't mind. Those one's that were rejected are really hot! The person who turned them down must have been blind or jealous. Possibly both!

I agree with you on this, Dora...

It's about accountability too...people allow these feelings brought on by their past to cripple them. They become hobbled by this stuff and never seem to get up to speed, are never able to fully evolve...it's weird. And hard to watch.
